Subsequently, the alloy is cooled rapidly to undergo the treatment of formation into TiNi single phase and then constrained in an elastic region to undergo aging at ≤about 600°C, by which a base phase and a Ti
3 Ni
4 phase having complete conformity are anisotropically precipitated. When applied stress is relieved after the above constrained annealing, the specimen is formed into a deformed state. When this specimen having deformation strain is rapidly heated up to >about 600°C so that the anisotropic precipitate is not grown, Ti
3 Ni
4 is penetrated again into the base phase. This alloy for high-temp. thermomotive element can be used for measuring element for the temp. in a furnace, abnormally elevated temp. due to heating, etc.
