CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner for exclusive cooling use, of this invention, comprises a temperature controller 1 for controlling a relay contact 2, an indoor and an outdoor fan motors 3, 4, and a compressor motor 5. In performing dehumidifying operation by use of the above air conditioner, room temperature at the time of starting dehumidifying opration is detected by the temperature controller 1 and preserved in memory. Then, two different temperatures lower than the above initial room temperature are stored in memory of the controller 1 as "cut-off" temperature and "cut-in" temperature, respectively. Here, if the room temperature during operation is higher than the "cut-in" temperature, cooling oeration is performed by opeating all of the above motors 3W5. Subsequently, when the room temperature has become lower than the "cut-off" temperature as the result of the above cooling operation, operation of all of the above motors is stopped.
