CONSTITUTION: A pulverized coal-oil mixture comprising (A) less than 60 wt.%, preferably 20W55 wt.% based on the final mixture of a pulverized coal e.g. anthracite coal, having an average particle size ≤200μ, preferably ≤100μ, and (B) a fuel oil, e.g. crude oil, is incorporated with preferably (C) 1% or less of a stabilizing agent. The resulting mixture is agitated vigorously at a linear velocity of 4W400 m/sec, preferably 8W100m/min for a time (hr) of formula TWT×20, preferably TWT×10 (T is the time required for sharp decrease of the viscosity of the system), and a corrosion inhibitor or water is added to the mixture, if necessary, to give the objective mixture.
EFFECT: Pulverized coal is scarcely settled, and tanker or pipline transportation of the mixture is possible.
