The light sent from the semiconductor laser, LED or the like is emitted through lens 8 after passing through optical fiber 7 and then enters photo detector 11 such as the PIN photo diode or the like via lens 9 and optical fiber 10. The output electric signal of detector 11 gives the natural frequency of diaphragm 4 via frequency measuring device 12. This natural frequency depends on the temperature to ensure the temperature measurement of the diaphragm. As a result, an optical temperature detector can be obtained with the high explosion-proof property and high stability plus the low noise property each.
