CONSTITUTION: Electric clock signals (b) generated by a clock generation circuit 5 on the outside of a semiconductor integrated circuit chip 2 are supplied to a light receiving device 6 after the signals (b) are converted into optical clock signals (c) by means of a light emitting device 8. The signals (c) inputted to the device 6 are supplied to the input terminals of flip flop circuits 1 as electric clock signals (a) after the signals (c) are converted into electric signals and the electric signals are amplified. The then clock skew is the sum of the fluctuation of delay time caused by the manufacturing fluctuation of the light receiving device 6 and an amplifier circuit 7 and the fluctuation of propagating time of light caused by an optical transmission line from the light emitting device 8 to the light receiving device 6. Therefore, the clock skew does not increase even when the number of the flip flop circuits 1 increases.
