A check electrode 3 is communicated with the electrolyte 2 through a connecting tube 6. A sample 4 is polarized in anode from a natural corrosion potential to a passive state potential through a sample pole 13 by means of a potentiostat 11 and it is retained in the passive state potential for a given time and thereafter, it is polarized to a counter direction in a given feeding speed.
