CONSTITUTION: Two types of transmission signal generated from a pulse generator 1 directly and through a pulse generator 3 are mixed 7 with a signal fed from a synthesizer 3 through a line 12 and also mixed 9 with a signal fed from an oscillator 13 through a band filter 8. The mixed 9 signal is transmitted through a band filter 10, a repetitive frequency (r.f) amplifier 11, a transmitting/ receiving switch 15 and an antenna 16. A reflected signal received by the antenna 16 is mixed 19 with a signal fed from an oscillator 13 through the switch 15, an r.f amplifier 17, and a band filter 18 and also mixed 21 with a signal fed from the synthesizer 3 through a band pass filter 20 before being converted into an intermediate frequency signal. The intermediate frequency signal is mixed 24 with a signal fed from a unit 2 through an IF amplifier 22 and a band filter 23 and then subjected to A/D conversion 26. Finally, digitized orthogonal components I, Q are extracted through a Hilbert filter 27 and fed to a video processing unit 29.
