CONSTITUTION: Reinforcing fiber such as glass fibers and thermoplastic resin fiber such as nylon each of from hundreds to tens of thousands of filaments are mixed together into combined filament yarn. The combined filament yarn is next reshaped into a mesh having an arbitrary aperture before subjected to heat treatment that fuses the conjugations of the combined filament yarn together into a meshed structural material. The structural material, which is typically applicable to marine structures including petroleum platforms, building curtain walls, floors and walls for multiple dwelling houses, and tunnel reinforcing materials, thus exhibits improved lightness and corrosion resistance.
