Therefore, the light from the light source 2 is reflected toward the light source 3, and the light from the light source 3 is reflected toward the light source 2. A rod lens 4 is arranged just above the image read position 12 of the surface mirror 1, and the reflected light from the surface mirror 1 is made incident on this lens. Edge detection and image read are performed by a CCD image sensor 6.
