CONSTITUTION: A scale-up dot, generated by a scale-up printing dot image data generating unit 4, is configured so as to be octagonal and printing letters upon scale-up are thinned out in an image data patterning processing unit 7 and are sent to a printing letter control unit 6 after storing them into a third image data storing unit 8. The scale-up printing dot image data generating unit 4 is constituted of first to third shift registers 9-11, first and second part figure generating units 12, 13 and a part figure synthesizing unit 14. Part figures, such as triangular shape or square shape which constitute the octagonal scale-up printing dot, are generated in the generating unit 4 to produce the octagonal scale-up printing dot by combining them while the octagonal scale-up printing dots are combined to correct a part to be corrected, which is generated upon obtaining a desired printing figure (shown by black part), while applying either one of said part figures simultaneously.
