CONSTITUTION: A field bus system is divided into an instrument room side and a field side centering on a boundary line 1. An instrument room is provided with a host instrument 2 which includes a CRT display device, a console, and an arithmetic/control unit. The instrument 2 usually monitors (measures) the instruments set at the field side and also outputs the control commands as well as the setting/changing commands of control parameters to the instruments of the field side only as necessary. The field side includes a control loop 3 which sends the measured value detected by a transmitter 4 to an arithmetic/ control part 6. Then the loop 3 gives a control signal to an actuator 5 based on the control parameter stored in a memory 6a. A bus control part 14 is connected to a field bus 7 via a repeater 15, and the loop 3 is connected to the bus 7 via a repeater 8. Then the part 14 controls the flow of data through the bus 7.
