Through the clockwise rotation of the printing ratchet 8a, a printing pin 8h engaging the ratchet 8a is depressed, and with this a piece of dot is recorded. The counter-clockwise rotation of the stepping motor 1 rotates the printing ratchet 8a counter-clockwise, and rotates a worm gear 8f, which engages a column-carrying teeth 9a of a column-carrying lack 9, to move a carriage 8 in the direction of an arrow mark E by a full dot pitch.
