An angle detector circuit determines the magnitude of the angle entered in degrees on the calculator''s keyboard. If it is less than 180*, the logic circuit effectively enters an addition function and then 180*. If it is 180* or more, the logic circuit effectively enters a subtraction function and then 180*. The conversion between statute miles and nautical miles is performed by either multiplying or dividing by a factor of 0.87.
