CONSTITUTION: Stearic acid or mineral spirit is added to a lead alloy contg. 0.05W5wt% Cu, Ni or Sb. The mixture is processed in a ball mill to obtain a scaly lead alloy pigment (A) having a particle size of 10W100μ and a thickness of 0.5W3μ. 10W900pts.wt. component A and optionally an extender pigment, a suspending agent, a diluent, etc. are blended with 100pts.wt. at least one vehicle selected from among drying oil, alkyd resins, phenolic resins, chlorinated rubbers and vinyl resins to obtain a rust-inhibiting paint compsn. The compsn. is applied to a substrate to be coated in a coating thickness of 20W200μ and dried at room temp. or by heating.
EFFECT: A coating film having excellent adhesion, strength and resistance to corrosion and weather can be obtd.
