CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution of phenolic compound existing in living body, e.g. protocatechuic acid, caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid, 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl alanine, tyrosine, etc., having a concentration of ≥0.002% is adjusted to ≥9pH. Green leaves are immersed in said aqueous solution for ≥24hr, then immersed in an aqueous solution of a mixture of the above phenolic compound and glycer ol to keep the flexibility of the raw leaf, and dried to obtain the objective green-colored dried leaves.
EFFECT: It can be packaged safely together with food to improve the docorative value of the food. It can be produced simply by immersion and drying, at a low initial and running cost. Since the natural green color and flexibility of just picked leaf can be maintained in the present dried leaf, it has high commer cial value.
