CONSTITUTION: (A) Siliceous raw material powder is mixed with (B) calcareous raw material powder containing Portland cement at a CaO/SiO
2 molar ratio of 0.7-1.1 and an Al/(Si+Al) atomic ratio of ≤7% calculated from the Al
2 O
3 and SiO
2 in whole raw materials. After the preliminarily hydration treatment of the component B, whole raw materials are mixed with each other and slur ried with water. The slurry is mixed with (C) metallic Al powder, cast in a mold frame and subjected to foaming and curing. The expansion molded product is cured in an autoclave with steam of 100-240°C until the amount of formed xonotlite reaches ≥35wt.% based on the whole composition to obtain the objec tive formed article of xonotlite-type light weight calcium silicate hydrate having a bulk density of 0.3-0.8 and a compression strength of ≥20kgf/cm
2 and durable to the surface temperature of ≥750°C.
