CONSTITUTION: This magnetic disk device is provided with the track buffer 1 having sufficiently large capacity capable of storing the whole contents of one track on a magnetic disk, a means 3 for controlling the addresses of the buffer 1 based upon sector numbers, a means 2 for writing data obtained from the magnetic disk in the buffer 1 simultaneously with the end of seaking operation, and a means 4 for switching the data of the magnetic disk and the data of the buffer 1 and controlling data transfer. During the period of time from the end of seaking operation up to reconnection with the master device, data read out from the magnetic disk are controlled so as to be transferred to the master device without lossing time after reconnecting the magnetic disk device with the master device.
