CONSTITUTION: A waste water 1 is subjected to the nitration in a nitration procedure 2 and, thereafter, flowed into a denitrification procedure A and a denitrification bacteria medium layer is separated as a supernatant liquid 4 and this liquid 4 is flowed into a denitrification procedure B. At the same time, said supernatant liquid is separated from a denitrification bacteria medium layer into which an org. carbon source 6 is poured and flowed into a denitrification procedure C as a supernatant water 5 and, after the denitrification is completed, discharged as a treated water 9. Because denitrification bacteria is reduced in the procedures A, C and, on the other hand, denitrification bacteria is increased in the procedure B by pouring an org. carbon source 6, the medium of the procedure B is transferred to the procedures A, C and, after the denitrification bacteria is reduced by an internal breathing type denitrification reaction, returned to the procedure B and, thereby, the waste of an org. carbon source is prevented as well as excessive denitrification bacteria can be treated easily and economically.
