CONSTITUTION: External cylinders 15a and 15b which face each other at the center position of a hollow shaft 11 are fixed to the hollow shaft and the shell 2 is mounted rotatably between the two external cylinders. Shells 2a and 2b are nearly semicircular and the eddy current flaw detection sensor 1 and a contact bearing 3 are fitted to their outer peripheral parts. Both ends of the shell 2a and 2b are coupled mutually by coil springs 10a and 10b respectively and the external diameter is small in a stationary state, but when pressure air is supplied to rotate the shells, the shells 2a and 2b are pushed out and rotate along the internal surface of the thin pipe. The whole flaw detector is aligned by a pantagraph type alignment units 16W21, so the traceability of the sensor 1 on the internal surface of the thin pipe is improved.
