CONSTITUTION: Distillers' solubles (dissolved or dispersed remains left after the solid grains have been strained from the residue from alcoholic distillation, e.g. residue of whisky), or distillers' dried solubles is extracted with an organic solvent such as ether, and centrifuged to obtain clear liquor, which is concentrated under atmospheric or reduced pressure pref. to a solid content of 25W65%. The concentrate thus prepared is mixed with a salt such as ammonium carbonate and/or a nitrogen compound such as ammonia to obtain the objective agent for increasing the yield of "shiitake" mushroom. The amount of the salt and/or nitrogen compound is pref. 20W140pts.wt. per 100 parts of the concentrate.
