USE: Useful as a synthetic intermediate of surfactant, agricultural chemical, medical drug or a fluorine-containing product such as fluorine-based ionomer, or a raw material for iodine optical dissociation laser, etc.
PREPARATION: Perfluorocarboxylic acid fluoride expressed by formula II is reacted with lithium iodide at 100-300°C, preferably 150-230°C to afford the compound expressed by formula I. Said lithium iodide is preferably anhydride and using amount of said lithium iodide is preferably stoichiometric amount or a little excess amount of the stoichiometric amount. Besides, e.g. ω-(fluorosulfonyl) perfluorocarboxylic acid fluoride or perfluoro-β-sultone is used as a starting raw material.
