The entire system, when loaded with signage, and tensioned, protrudes very slightly from the surface of the vehicle, capitalizing on the total width tolerances to within which large trucks and tractor trailers are constructed, and designed not to increase such width beyond applicable regulatory maxima when fully operational. The system is designed to facilitate the mounting of state of the art flexible advertising or publicity media at tensions which practically maintain the signage in a virtual plane, thus enhancing readability and reducing image distortion to the viewer, yet do not put such strength demands on the mounting system such as to require a large footprint or permanent complex hardware appendage to the vehicle. Additionally, the parts comprising the anchoring and tensioning rails are only two in number, thus allowing for ease and economy of manufacture, as well as simplifying the inventory and installation processes.
