PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for raising a plant by which disease injuries can be controlled without requiring both labors in weeding and spraying of a chemical by spraying a specific plant raising agent. SOLUTION: A plant raising agent comprising chaff charcoal and preferably 0.3-30wt.%, more preferably 1-10wt.% lime nitrogen is sprayed. That is, the chaff charcoal contains SiC as an ingredient and usually used as a fertilizer. The plant raising agent is obtained by placing the chaff charcoal in an anionized quartz crucible for a prescribed time (for about 7-30min), anionizing Si of the SiC and mixing the anionized chaff charcoal with the lime nitrogen. Since insects dislike an anionic atmosphere, insect injuries are reduced to produce active oxygen having germicidal actions with the anions. Since N in the fertilizer three major nutriments (the N, P and K), the Si which is a minor element and Ca in order to regulate the pH are contained therein, the plant raising agent is capable of manifesting effects as a fertilizer.
