1. An apparatus for unloading barges comprising a Barge unloader for elevating material out of a barge, means for moving a portion of said unloader into and out of a barge, a barge haulage means for moving a barge relative said unloader while a portion of said unloader is positioned within the barge, at least one scraper device coupled to said unloader and having a scraper blade mounted at the outer end thereof, means for actuating said scraper device so that said scraper blade may pull material in the barge toward said unloader, said scraper device and the last said means also being adapted to position said scraper blade below said unloader and into material at the bottom of a barge being unloaded so that when the barge is moved by said barge haulage means said scraper blade is adapted to feed material from below said unloader up into the path of said unloader and thereby permitting said unloader to unload material from the bottom of the barge without requiring said unloader to come into contact with the bottom thereof.
