摘要 PURPOSE:To provide the subject mechanism wherein strain gages are pasted and fixed to an underground thrusting body secured to a traveling machine body, and on the basis of outputs of these gages the variation in the machine traveling direction is correctly detected. CONSTITUTION:Strain gages G1... are pasted and fixed to an underground treating body secured to a traveling machine body. When the straight advance of the machine body is maintained, a pointer of a display mechanism 15 indicates the zero point while the machine body is advancing in a direction in which the standard strain gage G1 of the underground thrusting body. When the machine body gets off to the left or right hand from the target straight advancing line, the direction of the ground resistance acting upon the underground thrusting body is varied, and the angle of the variation is discriminated by means of a discriminating circuit 10. Further, the lateral deviations of the machine body obtained from the discrimination result and the result obtained from the detection by a speed detection 11 are successively integrated, and are displayed as deviations in the left and right directions of the pointer of the display mechanism 15.
