PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functionalized polymer for reducing the hysteresis and heat build-up when a tire tread is rolled. SOLUTION: The functionalized polymer includes a polymer chain and a terminal group linked to the polymer chain through functionality comprising one or more urethane groups. The functionalized polymer can be provided by reacting a nucleophilic reagent with a polymer having a terminal iso(thio)cyanate functionality. The polymer having the terminal iso(thio)cyanate functionality is provided by reacting an active terminal-bearing polymer with polyiso(thio)cyanate. この組成物は、前記エラストマーが、乳化溶液中で、少なくとも1種の共役ジエンモノマーと、カルボン酸に加水分解できるか酸化できる前駆体コモノマーとをラジカル共重合させてその鎖に沿って前記酸の前駆体官能基を含む中間体ジエンエラストマーを得、次いで、前記前駆体官能基の加水分解又は酸化を行う事によってその鎖に沿ってカルボン酸官能基を含む前記エラストマーを得る事によって得る事ができる様な組成物である。 |

PURPOSE: To prepare an asymmetric radical copolymer by reacting a first polymer with a coupling agent containing functional groups, and bringing resulting product into contact with other polymers thereby controlling relative distribution of polymeric arms within a narrow range. CONSTITUTION: A first polymer such as living polybutadiene having only one reactive terminal group is brought into contact with a coupling agent such as SiX 4 (X is F, Cl, Br, I, alkoxide, carboxylic acid), RC (SiX 3) 3 (R is a 1-10C hydrocarbyl) containing plural functional groups to react with the reactive terminal group, and one as more kinds of polymer having reactive terminal groups, but different from the first polymer and different from each other is bright into contact with each resulting product obtained in each of preceding stages till all the functional groups in the coupling agent finally and completely complete reaction, and then the asymmetric radial polymer is recovered. Butadiene polymer compsn. for prodn. of moulded articles, esp. electrical, electronic and chemical appts., e.g. capacitors, transistors, connections, transformers, valves, pipe connections, pumps and tiles, consists of (1) 100 pts. wt. butadiene polymer having mainly the 1,2-consign., and contg. metal bonds, (2) 5-100 pts.wt. solid plasticiser, (3) 50-100 pts. wt. filler, and (4) 0.1-3.0 pts. wt. free radical initiator. Polymer (1) consists of butadiene polymer chains with the 1,2-consign., and metal carboxylate, the polymer chains consisting of >50, pref. 80% butadiene residues, and 50, esp. 20 comonomer residues and/or residues of other cpds. More than 50%, esp. 80% of the butadiene residues possess the 1,2-consign., and the polymer chains contg. the 1,2-consign. have a mol. wt. of 200-100,000. The ratio of metal bonds to butadiene units is 1/4-100. The polymer is easily moulded; cures without the formation of cracks to give non-tacky prodts. with excellent electrical props., e.g. dielectric dissipation factor, dielectric constant, and arcing resistance; and has good heat resistance, impact resistance, and chemical resistance. | ||||||
