A webbing strip-to-tubular frame member fastening incorporating a clip having general T-configuration provided by a relatively elongated and wide head part and a prong integral with said head part and extending at a substantial right angle from its centrallength portion, the prong having a relatively wide root portion and a pointed end portion formed with oppositely projecting side wings, the relatively outer-upper corner areas of which are bent and/or coined in manner as to provide locking-barb formations characterized by locking edges which face towards the head part and incline downwardly-outwardly and to one side of the general plane of the prong proper, said locking-barb formations upon assembly of the clip being adapted to lock beneath the end corners of the slot in the tubular frame member.

Attachment apparatus for joining sinuous spring bands to the frame rails in furniture or the like. Anchor link members and radius link members are employed, alone or in combination with each other, to connect the free ends, either plain or Zee-hooked, to the rail at or below the rail top. The link members are colorcoded according to length and stocked in a multi-compartment working container having corresponding color-coded compartments. Any desired length link or combination of links are readily selected by color reference.

A construction for securing plastic webbing members to a furniture frame in which a bar is rigidly secured parallel to and spaced from each of two opposed frame members, between which the webbing members are to extend, and in which each end of the webbing is passed over one of the frame members, then over the bar, and then back over the frame member over the initial end portion. The plastic webbing is of a type which when it is heating will stretch and upon cooling will return to its original length. The initial end portion of the webbing may be adhesively secured to the frame member and/or the overlying section of the webbing member to guard further against any possible slippage between the webbing and the frame.

A C-shaped clip is disclosed for securing webbing to tubular framework. The clip is of resilient hardenable material and includes a plurality of teeth extending inwardly in a row at the extremity of each of the longitudinal sides. One end of a strip of webbing is inserted within the clip and impaled upon the prongs of one row. The webbing is then extended in a bight over the extremity of the clip and then along the outside of the clip. The clip and webbing is fitted onto the tubular framework such that each of the rows of prongs engage the tubular framework and the remaining portion of the clip is adjacent the tubular framework. The webbing is then wrapped about the clip, a portion of the exposed tubular framework and thence across the open space intermediate the framework. The force exerted upon the webbing disposed across the framework is translated to a force acting upon the rows of prongs to imbed them within the tubular framework, whereby the clip is inhibited from rotating and will securely fasten the webbing to the framework.

VAN HALTEREN G |
An improved web fastener for use in securing webs to tubular chair frames and the like. The improved fastener includes a tongue which is struck from the fastener and which has the first portion projecting outwardly from the body of the fastener. The outer end of the tongue is generally V-shaped when viewed from above and at least one additional portion is integrally connected to the first portion along one of the inclined leading edges and projects rearwardly therefrom. The tongue may also include a second portion connected to the other leading edge and projecting rearwardly therefrom. Each of the portions which project rearwardly from the first portion is outwardly inclined relative to the first portion so as to form a leaf-type spring which is compressible towards the first portion so as to be easily mounted in an opening in use.
