The anchor is characterised by having fastening means in the central portion to hold the end of the tufting tie. The anchor is simply rotated to wind or unwind the tufting tie about the central portion to adjust the tension in the tie as required. The tufting tie anchor has particular application in mattresses to tighten loose ties which are unsightly and uncomfortable, and to adjust the firmness of the mattress.
