PURPOSE:To prevent thin leafs and the like from jamming by configurating a device in such a manner that a belt is installed between a roller, which is arranged holding a separating roller, and an eccentric roller, which is arranged at the starting side of the forwarding belt so as to allow the belt to rise and lower while the leaf is being forwarded. CONSTITUTION:The eccentric rotation of a timing gear 11 allows the starting side of a forwarding conveyor belt 7 to rise and lower in respect to a cutout window 3a of a support plate 3. The lowermost leaf out of leafs 1 piled up on the support plate 3 is not forwarded to the direction as shown by an arrow head before the entire area of the leaf lower surface comes in contact with the forwarding conveyor belt while the belt is touching the leaf from the forward end to the afterward end. In this case, no jamming occurs in the lowermost leaf because a forwarding force is exerted to the leaf from the forward end to the afterward end in order. And the forwarding conveyor belt 7 starts lowering after it has come in contact with the afterward end of the first leaf. Accordingly, even if the second leaf is suspended by a reversely rotating roller 35, no jamming occurs because the second leaf does not come in contact with the forwarding conveyor belt 7. |

PURPOSE:To secure a sheet transport with good performance by furnishing a sheet-shaped member in the neighborhood of the part, in which sheet biting by the roller couple is made, and thereby providing smooth biting of the sheet by roller couple CONSTITUTION:Several sheets 2 in the undermost position of the sheet stack 2 on a sheet place table 1 are sent by an aux. roller 14 in the direction of arrow a. These sheets 2 sent are separated individually by a transport belt 6 and a separator belt 10, and sent along guides 18, 20 for a roller couple 15, 16. In this period the roller couple 15, 16 are at a standstill, and the leading edge of each individual sheet 2 is guided by the guide 20 consisting of a sheet-shaped member so as to run against the bite-in part of said roller couple 15, 16. Because both belts 6, 10 continue to run thereafter, the sheet 2 is bent in the space of the sheet feed path 21, and when a sensor 19 has sensed the leading edge 2 of the sheet 2, the belts 6, 10 shall be stopped and the roller couple 15, 16 be rotated in stead. Thus bite-in transport of the sheet 2 can be made smoothly while the sheet is pressed to the bite-in part by the guide 20 with its resilient force. |

In a sheet stacking apparatus, especially a recirculating document handler for recirculating document sheets for precollation copying at a copier platen to and from a stack in a document tray without obstructing access to the document tray, with restacking edge guides repositionable to accommodate stacking different sheet sizes and a restacking feeder for restacking the document sheets in the tray within the restacking edge guides by feeding each document in over the top of the stack from one edge and releasing the document to restack, there is provided automatically varying corrugation restacking apparatus enabling controlled restacking for recirculative copying of large flimsy documents such as Japanese B4 size sheets compatibly with normal document sizes having sheet corrugating members repositioned by movement of a repositionable restacking edge guide into a position to restack such large sheets and automatically providing in coordination therewith additional sheet corrugation in response to the flimsiness and size of the sheet. |

PURPOSE: To prevent double feeding surely regardless of toughness of paper by such a construction that two belts with different tensile setting are in contact with a friction roller, where inclination of the belts with respect to the roller shall differ from each other.
CONSTITUTION: When a friction roller 2 is rotated in the direction shown by the arrow, the sheet P lying at the top of the pile on a holder plate 4 is sent to separating belts 5, 6 by a feeding roller 1 and a pressing roller 14 resting on the pile by its own weight. The separating belts 5 and 6 are stretched over shafts 7, 7 and 8, 8, respectively, where the belt 5 shall be set slack so as to be in surface contact with the circumferential surface of the friction roller 2 and, on the other hand, the belt 6 shall be set tense so as to be in line contact with the same. The inclination of belt 5 with respect to horizontal plane shall be set smaller than that of belt 6. Thereby, for sheets of paper with toughness, the belt 5 makes rough separation and, then, the belt 6 makes sure separation one sheet after another.

A sheet feeder (1) having a stack hopper (9) for holding a stack of sheets (8), and feed belts (5, 6, 7) for advancing the bottom-most sheet from the stack, has traction belts (110, 111, 112) between the feed belts. The traction belts extend around a shaft (25) beneath the hopper and around a shaft (27) positioned intermediate the reach of the feed belts, a short distance short of separators (30, 31). The traction belts are preferably thicker than the feed belts and textured on their outer surface. |

A feeder/separator apparatus for separating and moving sheets from a stack of sheets is described. The feeder/separator includes an input area for positioning the stack of sheets; a first and second series of rollers for jointly feeding a sheet on the bottom of the stack into an area of the apparatus including a third and forth series of rollers and a first series of belts; a pre-separation brake adapted to act in a pivoting pattern only on the first series of belts to cause a first stage separation of the bottom sheet; a separation brake adapted to act in a linear pattern only on the fourth series of rollers to cause a second stage separation of the bottom sheet, the pre-separation and separation brakes permitting the bottom sheets to be separated from the stack; and a fifth series of rollers and a second series of belts both being adapted to feed the bottom sheets away from the feeder/separator apparatus in a sheet feed path. |
