A parasol (1) comprising a series of spokes (2), between which a piece of fabric (3), designed to project shade extends, these spokes being linked to a mechanism (4) that makes it possible to vary the arrangement of the spokes, such that the parasol adopts at least one folded position (A) and one operative unfolded position (B1, B2, B3, B4, B5). The mechanism comprises a shaft (5) and a plurality of rings (6), which overlap and are mounted rotationally around said shaft, at least two spokes being joined to different rings; and also the mechanism comprises a stop device (7), which may be operated manually and is capable of blocking relative movement between rings.

An umbrella base is provided that includes a first support, a second support and a control device, which can include a foot pedal. The second support is rotatably coupled with the first support. The foot pedal is coupled with the first support, e.g., at a pivot. The foot pedal has at least one lateral member. The lateral member projects downward from an arm. The lateral member is located on the same side of the second support as the foot pedal. Movement of the foot pedal downward causes lateral members to disengage from the second support permitting the second support to rotate.

An umbrella is provided that has a transverse member mounted canopy control module. The umbrella has a support structure and a canopy. The support structure has a first support member having an upper end and a second support member. The second support member has a first end disposed adjacent to the first support member and a second end disposed away from the first end. The second support member extending along a longitudinal axis disposed transverse to the first support member. The canopy has an upper hub. The upper hub is pivotally coupled with the second support member. The umbrella also has an enclosure disposed at the first end of the second support member. A canopy control mechanism is disposed in the enclosure to alter the configuration of the canopy.

A free arm umbrella (100) is provided including a mount structure (101), a shade providing structure including an upper hub (102) and a lower hub (103) coupled with the upper hub (102) by a plurality of umbrella structural members (105,106), and a first strut rod (110) and a second strut rod (120), wherein first and second ends of the first strut rod (110) are pivotally coupled with the lower hub (103) and an upper portion of the mount structure (101) respectively, one end of the second strut rod (120) is pivotally coupled with the upper hub (102) and another end is coupled with the mount structure (101). The umbrella (100) includes a rotation device (108) configured to be moveable between first and second positions, wherein when the rotation device (108) is in the first position the shade providing structure is prevented from rotating about an upright axis and wherein the rotation device (108) enables the shade providing structure to rotate about the upright axis when in the second position. The free arm umbrella (100) has advantages of simple structure, convenience of use, economic practicality, and being applicable to narrow space.

A skeleton including a main supporting rod, an upper fixing member, a main center rod, a push handle, a middle connecting piece and a sub-supporting rod is disclosed. The main supporting rod is hinged to the sub-supporting rod via the middle connecting piece. An upper end of the main center rod is fixedly connected to the upper fixing member. The push handle is hinged to an end of the sub-supporting rod and is coaxial with the main center rod, and an inner hole of the push handle has a diameter larger than that of the main center rod. Where the skeleton is to be used, the push handle is pushed upwardly until the push handle is surroundingly coupled with the main center rod, and the interior angle formed by the main center rod and the sub-supporting rod, in the triangle formed by the main supporting rod, the main center rod and the sub-supporting rod, is an obtuse angle. With the skeleton, the distance between the upper fixing member and the push handle is shortened, thereby the space occupied by the skeleton is reduced, space of the skeleton that can be used is increased, and the utility is improved. An umbrella and a canopy having the above skeleton and the same advantages are further disclosed.

Parasol accessory that comprises a laminar body (4) provided with a fold (5) in the lower part thereof, for the insertion of a ballasting piece, and with means for the association thereof with the rib structure of the parasol in the upper part thereof. The laminar body (4) covers the distance from the upper canopy (3) to the ground. The fastening means comprise eyelets (6) and cords (7) for connecting the laminar body (4) to the ribs. In the central part thereof, there is an extension (8) for the association thereof to the supporting pole (2), which may comprise a bag or the like at the free end thereof.

Des Weiteren weist das Schirmsystem (10) eine rohrförmige Außenhülse (16) derart auf, dass ein Zwischenraum (18) zwischen der Innenhülse (14) und der Außenhülse (16) gebildet ist, und die Membran (20) in dem eingefahrenen Zustand in dem Zwischenraum (18) angeordnet ist (Fig. 8).
