Die Erfindung betrifft ein Grundgerüst für einen Schirm, insbesondere Sonnenschirm, mit einem zentralen Mast (10) und Dachstreben (20) zur Bespannung mit einer Dachhaut (50), die jeweils ein inneres Tragelement (21), das mit dem Mast (10) drehgelenkig gekoppelt ist, und wenigstens ein äußeres Tragelement (22) aufweisen, das entlang des inneren Tragelements (21) verschiebbar gelagert ist, wobei zwischen dem Mast (10) und jeweils einer Dachstrebe (20) ein Stützstab (30) angeordnet ist, der einerseits entlang des Masts (10) verschiebbar gelagert und andererseits mit der Dachstrebe (20) drehgelenkig gekoppelt ist. Die Erfindung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass der Stützstab (30) an dem inneren Tragelement (21) angelenkt ist. Ferner betrifft die Erfindung einen Schirm mit einem derartigen Grundgerüst.
