A golf trolley umbrella holder 1 comprises an attachment device 1a arranged to attach the holder to a golf trolley and a hollow tube 2 for receiving the handle 3 of an umbrella. A stop device 5 engages a part of the umbrella and stops it passing through the second opening 2a when it is in a first position, and allows passage through the second opening when it is in a second position. The umbrella holder may have a locking mechanism comprising a cam (38, fig.14) which rotates about a pivot (38a) and presses against the umbrella to hold it in position. A locking rod (39, fig.14) may move the cam about the pivot (38a, fig 14). The attachment device 1a may comprise first and second interlocking plates (19, 20, fig.6) which are biased together by a biasing means such as knotted elastic line (21, fig.6).
