SOLUTION: This spacer pipe used between device parts arranged in the facing relation comprises a flexible sealing member having a body and a pair of flange seals arranged at both end parts of the body. The flange seals are engaged with the inward facing flanges of the device arts. A pair of ferrules are formed in such shape as to be engaged with one of the flange seals so as to be pressed to the flange of each device part to compress the flange seal. Each ferrule has a locking leg engaged with the flange seal, and a wedge part facing the locking leg. A tapered clamp is disposed between the ferrules and engaged with the ferrules to press them outward when tightened, thereby compressing the flange seal to the flange of each device part.

In this method, a roller support plate 16 is rotated by a tightening member 29 while its positional regulation is being effected by rollers 25 provided to a roller mounting arm 23 so that the web is transferred with the virtual center axis (point X) of the tubular web, which is formed by the roller faces of the rollers 11-13, as reference. Thereby, the web can be accurately transferred in its longitudinal direction so that it extends in a predetermined direction fixed by the rollers 11-13. As a result, when a rectangle-columnar web is formed from the tubular web, a product having high forming accuracy can be obtained in which a fold line of the web extending in the longitudinal direction becomes in alignment with an arris in the longitudinal direction of the prismatic web.

The height and the width of the closed box member composing the support module 2 are always the same. Therefore, the packaging machine can set the machine body support table 1 at a horizontal position or at any other desirable position making it possible to support hoizontally.

In this way, the flat blank is conveyed from the first mechanical device 1 by a feeder and after it has been formed as a cylindrical box, the box is transferred from the second mechanical device to the third mechanical device 3 and then, stuffed with products and hermetically sealed.
