2 Machine for the reciprocal fastening of facing edges of the instep part of a shoe upper EP99120092.4 1999-10-20 EP1050227A1 2000-11-08 Montani, Giuseppe

A machine fastens to each other the opposite edges (51a,51b) of the instep part of a shoe upper by a piece (15) of thread (2) that is introduced in the holes (52a,52b) made in the edges and clamped at the related ends (15a,15b) by a cylindrical element (36) which receives these adjacent parts and is deformed permanently thus locking the ends (15a,15b) of the thread.

A method of automatic shoe lacing is proposed to include steps of: (a) capturing, by a camera system, at least two images of shoelace holes of a shoe from different positions relative to the shoe; (b) acquiring, by a computer device through conducting an analysis according to the at least two images of the shoe, coordinates of the shoelace holes relative to a robotic arm; and (c) the robotic arm lacing the shoe according to the coordinates acquired in step (b).

An automatic shoe-lacing machine for securing a shoelace onto a shoe upper includes a jig unit, a robotic arm unit and a control unit. The jig unit permits the shoe upper to be disposed thereon. The robotic arm unit is disposed at the proximity of the jig unit. The robotic arm unit simultaneously holds and moves two tipping members of the shoelace for sequentially passing the tipping members through eyelets formed in the shoe upper. The control unit controls the movement of the robotic arm unit.
