121 Spray-formed reinforcement for footwear US12072422 2008-02-26 US20080201981A1 2008-08-28 John Philip Halberstadt; Stanley Hockerson
A reinforcing elastic polymer, such as a urethane/rubber material, is selectively spray-applied over upper, midsole or outsole components of articles of footwear. Such a material sprayed over the toe area of baseball shoes, for example, that is subjected to increased wear during use, serves to improve the durability of that area. A cleated midsole constructed of a lightweight foamed material such as EVA, has an elastic polymer outsole layer selectively spray-applied over the outer surface of the cleated midsole to form a combination midsole/outsole that provides improved durability and traction, as well as superior shock absorption characteristics.
122 STABILIZING AND SUPPORT ACCESSORY FOR STILETTO HEELS US11942087 2007-11-19 US20080148606A1 2008-06-26 Rebecca Brown; Monica Murphy
A stabilizing and support accessory is provided for a stiletto heel. A base plate, having a surface contact area significantly greater than that of the heel, is mounted underneath the heel by means of a simple, clip-on attachment, such that the attachment can be easily and quickly mounted on a heel for walking over soft or uneven surfaces, and also quickly removed when not needed. A preferred clip-on attachment is formed of a section of spring steel shaped into an upwardly opening, U-shaped clip and a horizontally opening clip integrally extending from one element of the upwardly opening clip. An alternative form, formed primarily of plastic, is attached by a single, horizontally disposed clip gripping the heel. The accessories are sufficiently inexpensive that they may be discarded after use, as after walking on muddy surfaces, for example.

126 Grinding apparatus with flexible plate US09442019 1999-11-17 US06195918B1 2001-03-06 Benjamin B. Kelley; Christopher H. Morris; David G. Inman
Grind shoe device of the present invention includes a shoe sole having downwardly facing heel and forefoot tread surfaces and a downwardly opening recess formed with longitudinal and transverse recess sections. A grind plate device is formed with transverse and longitudinal grind plate sections for receipt in the respective transverse and longitudinal recess sections, at least one of such grind plate sections being formed with a downwardly facing trough for grinding along a rail, curb or the like. The longitudinal grind plate section is flexible and in some embodiments is foiled of rigid sections of discrete rigid grind plate portions disposed to flex relative to one another to facilitate flexing of the sole. The method of the present invention involves the manufacturing of the sole with such downwardly facing recess and fabricating the grind plate device to be complementally received in its top side in such recesses. The grind plate is fastened to the sole by bonding, molding or, in some instances, by mechanical fasteners.

This invention relates to shoe covers. Previously, shoe covers did not adequately conform to contours of the upper shoe region for different shoe styles and sizes, thereby minimizing the practical use of the devices and comfort of the user. Embodiments of the present invention use a cover body (12) that has a pair of lace holes (34) that permit ends of a shoelace to pass through the cover body from underneath the body to above the body. A top flap (14) is affixed to the top face of the cover body and is made from a stretchable material. The top flap is configured to fold down and over the edge of a pocket (16). The pocket forms a hollow interior pouch that may have variable dimensions conforming to the contours of the upper shoe region for different shoe styles and sizes.
