21 Necktie US478775 1995-06-07 US5555563A 1996-09-17 Richard E. Ear
A prefabricated necktie including a frame having a generally wedge-shaped front profile and including flanges extending rearwardly and tapering downwardly. The operating stem of a camming element is rigidly mounted on the frame and entraps the camming element. The camming element receives and engages the interengagable ends of a neck band, defining a loop. The loop embraces the wearer's neck and may be tightened thereabout by pulling down on the interengaged neck band ends relative to the camming element. The novel flanges promote a knot having a fuller shape, decrease material wear and deter the user from pulling the neck band sideways, jamming or damaging the interengaging structures of the neck band. A front member is mounted to and loops around the frame to resemble a tie knot.

23 Seaman style preset necktie US224608 1988-07-27 US4856114A 1989-08-15 Jiann-Jong Chen; Ching-Hwa Chen
The present invention provides a seaman style preset necktie characterized mainly in that the portions of the necktie below the tie knot are bifurated into two branches, there are no inner and outer ties as those with conventional neckties, and that the tie knot is suspended before the wearer's chest instead of being tied adjacent to the neck opening. In the present invention, both ends of the necktie are provided with zippers on the same side and the tie knot is provided with a pair of zipper sliders which are disposed invertedly relative to each other, the upper slider causing the portions of the necktie body to be gathered while the lower one causing them to be separated again, such that the position of the tie knot can be adjusted by sliding the sliders. After proper adjustment, by means of the fastening means on the ends of the outer cover of the tie knot, it is only necessary to fold and press said outer cover of the tie knot to be securely set.

26 Neck band US3778847D 1972-12-19 US3778847A 1973-12-18 LUNDIN E
This is a length of ribbon textile, for example about 3 cms. wide which includes a mid-length neckband portion passing around the neck and having its end portions joined along their adjacent side margins to form a body section extending from the throat downwardly along the shirt front. The fabric is folded over on itself with the fold lines making angles of about 45* at the junction of the neckband with the body section, to dispose the loop in a horizontal plane. A slide fastener secured to the underside of the side margins permits opening or closing the upper end of the body section for putting on or taking off the article. The width of the neckband is preferably abruptly reduced adjacent the flat folds to about 2 cms. Woven, knitted or braided fabric ribbon may be used, although woven material having relatively taut weft threads and loose warp threads is preferred to minimize transverse stretch.
