PURPOSE:To enable to set tabs in a short time without any mistake, by providing a means for storing a pair of margin positions, a means for inputting the number of tabs to be set, and a means for setting tabs at regular intervals in the range limited by the margins. CONSTITUTION:First, when a control command key 1 for changing the meaning of a normal tab set key 2 is depressed, a Q1 output of a flip-flop 4 becomes high, while a Q1' output thereof becomes low. Next, when the tab set key 2 is depressed, an output from an AND 7 becomes high to cause a Q2 output of a flip-flop 8 to become high. Subsequently, when numerical information is inputted through a numeral key 3, a high signal is outputted from an AND 11, and is inputted into a tab position calculating part 12. The calculating part 12 automatically apportions tabs at regular intervals on the basis of left and right margin positions stored in an RAM13 for margins and neumerical information fed through a numeral controller 5 and a numerical value buffer 6, the tabs are stored into an RAM14 for tabs, and are read in the subsequent printing operation. Accordingly, the tabs can be set in a short time without any mistake.

125 Typewriter JP11520382 1982-07-02 JPS595085A 1984-01-11 IIDA KATSUHIKO
PURPOSE:To output a large number of messages in a short time, by printing a plurality of messages in one line when the number of messages is large, in a typewriter for printing in accordance with a message-outputting command fed from a central processor. CONSTITUTION:When a message-outputting command (a) is generated, a line message number determining circuit 13 discriminates whether or not the number N of the messages for which the outputting command is generated is not smaller than a predetermined number N0 (for example, 3), and N0 is stored into a register 14 when N>=N0, while N is stored into the register 14 when N<=N0. The thus stored value constitutes the number of messages to be printed in one line. Then, in starting to print, a counter (i) provided in a calculating circuit 15 for the lead column of the message is set to 1, the counter (i) is operated to count up each time one of the messages is printed, and when the content of the counter (i) exceeds N, line is shifted, and messages are printed in the new line. In this case, the circuit 15 calculates the number of columns by which a printing head 1 is to be moved so as to align the lead positions of the messages.

PURPOSE:To enable to easily discriminate between a specified kind of numerical value and other numerical values, by shifting a printing position for the specified kind of numerical value, in a printer for printing several kinds of numerical values. CONSTITUTION:In a process of executing a program for registering on the basis of registering mode information fed from a mode-selecting means 1, for example when numerical data are inputted into a CPU2 through a numerical value inputting means 4 and then a predetermined key in a function key group 5 is operated, the data are inputted and stored into a predetermined RAM area A or B corresponding to the key operated. Then, the results of calculations effected by operating a specified section key are stored in a RAM area C. The numerical value data stored in the RAM areas A, B, C are sequentially read, then the numerical values in the areas A, B are transferred to a printing means 9 by shifting them by one digit place, while the numerical values in the area C are transferred as they are, whereby the numerical values are printed so that data of amounts of money can be discriminated from data of quantities and unit costs.
