A moisture management sock is disclosed. One example embodiment includes one or more channels underneath the sock to transfer moisture from one or both of the heel or toes on the bottom of the sock. Some embodiments transfer moisture from the bottom of the sock around the arch to the top of the foot. Some embodiments include elements for drying the heel and/or toe and transferring it through the arch around the top of the foot.

The Improved Sock is made of yarns knitted into a foot and calf, with graduated compression on an individual's foot from the foot to the calf. The yarns can include wool and alpaca fibers. A substantial proportion of wool and/or alpaca are on the inside of the sock so as to be in direct contact with the skin and wound. The Improved Sock provides absorption and wicking of inflammatory mediators, bacteria and biofilm and necrotic exudate from the foot and leg. The Improved Sock has AgNP shapes electrostatically bonded to the yarn. At least 30% of the mass of the AgNP shapes attached to the fibers have a shape selected from the group consisting of truncated triangular plates (a triangle with the corners rounded off), triangular prisms, discs and combinations of two or more of them. The Improved Sock functions as a unique wound dressing with the sock in direct contact with the wound.
104 | Moisture Management Support Garment With A Denier Differential Mechanism | US12987235 | 2011-01-10 | US20120178343A1 | 2012-07-12 | Rebecca P. Hurd; Susan L. Sokolowski |
A moisture management fabric using denier differential to facilitate the movement of sweat away from the wearer's body is presented. An exemplary moisture management support garment constructed from an exemplary moisture management fabric is presented. An exemplary moisture management support garment is a moisture transporting sport bra. A denier differential is employed to provide superior moisture transporting and evaporation of perspiration from a wearer during exertion. The denier differential relies upon a facing layer and a back layer with substantially different yarn thickness and fabric porosity to achieve fluid transport.

An aspect of the invention is a flame resistant, durable, pill resistant undergarment. The undergarments are formed of a first knitted portion. The first knit portion is a well knit structure formed from air-jet spun yarns formed from an intimate blend of about 72 percent to about 80 percent modacrylic fibers and about 20 percent to about 28 percent cotton fibers. The linear density of the air-jet yarns are between about 30/1 cc and about 36/1 cc.

Knit fabric compositions have now been discovered that often have a balanced combination of desirable properties. Said fibric compositions comprise fibers of olefin block interpolymers or homogeneous branched ethylene polymers or a combination thereof. The fibers are characterized by an amount of crosslinking such that the fabric is capable of being molded.

A knitted fabric bra formed of a length of circular knit material flattened into a double ply fabric with ends secured together to form a torso encircling main body portion having rounded top and bottom edges. A pair of lengths of circular knit material flattened into double ply fabrics have ends secured to the main body portion to form shoulder straps having rounded side edges. The main body portion has a pair of enlarged, relatively loosely knit, relatively highly resiliently stretchable breast pockets. Under-sections are formed below the breast pockets. A front section extends between the breast pockets. Side sections extend from the breast pockets and are connected by a back section. The yarn selection and stitch size are varied in knitting of the fabric to provide desired fabric characteristics.

A protective undergarment having reinforced areas in particular locations, such as the knees and seat. The garment is made of an abrasive resistant fabric, such as aramid fibers, in particular, Kevlar, and is preferably made in a woven or knitted pattern so as to be soft to the touch and breathable so that the garment is comfortable to wear under clothing. The undergarment may include stirrups attached at the bottom of each leg to prevent movement of the reinforced areas in the event of a fall.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a garment with a crotch part, which can be extremely easily formed and can be supplied at low cost with a small number of parts and joining positions. The garment with the crotch part imparts a difference in stretchability to the crotch part so as to be well fitted to a recess and projections of buttocks to provide three-dimensional feeling of wearing. Further, the garment provides comfortable feeling of wearing by its excellent contact with skin. The garment with the crotch part according to the present invention includes the crotch part formed of two substantially triangular stretchable fabric materials, and apex portions (1a), (1b), and (1c) of a rear body (1) are overlapped and joined with apex portions (2a), (2b), and (2c) of a front body (2), respectively.

An elastic material includes a plurality of zones. Each of the zones has a particular modulus of elasticity associated with it and the distribution of the zones throughout the elastic material causes the material to have a variation of modulus of elasticity along a particular direction in the material. The elastic material includes a weft, which includes a relatively inelastic component, and a warp, which includes the relatively inelastic component together with the relatively elastic component.
113 | Panty construction with moisture management liner | US10403541 | 2003-03-31 | US20040193136A1 | 2004-09-30 | Robert A. Miller III |
A panty construction having improved moisture management. The panty construction includes a body portion having a waist opening, a front section and a back section, a crotch section, and a panty liner. The panty liner is formed from a knitted fabric comprising alternating courses of hydrophilic yarns. The yarns are knitted to form a rib knit with parallel ribs, the parallel ribs formed parallel to the alternating courses. The panty liner overlies and is attached to the inner surface of the crotch area so that the parallel ribs are substantially parallel with the major axis of the crotch area.

The present panty is formed of first and second seamless tubular knit blanks each of which includes an inwardly turned welt on one end, a predetermined length of body yarn and inwardly contracted mock rib areas formed by incorporating elastic yarn therein. The inwardly contracted mock rib area of one seamless blank is much longer than the other and is adapted to form the crotch area of the panty. Cotton yarn is incorporated on the inwardly contracted mock rib areas and forms inwardly extending terry loops. The seamless blanks are longitudinally slit and then joined together by a transverse seam extending across and connecting the inwardly contracted mock rib areas and opposite side seams are formed along opposite sides of the body portions of each blank and the inwardly turned welts to complete the panty and join the waistband and form a waist opening.
116 | Knit garment, knit blank therefor and method of making same | US650443 | 1976-01-19 | US4010627A | 1977-03-08 | David Pernick |
A knitted undergarment as formed from a knitted blank made entirely by rotary knitting upon a circle of needles of a circular knitting machine by first knitting a seamless tubular elastic waist encircling turned welt upon all of the needles, then knitting a seamless tubular body section in continuation of the welt upon all of the needles, and then knitting spaced seamless nontubular front and rear narrowed panels in continuation of correspondingly spaced portions of the body section upon correspondingly spaced groups of the needles, the yarn being introduced to the needles for the knitting of each course of the panels and being cut and clamped after the knitting of each such course, so that each course of the narrowed panels is knit of a separate length of yarn. The knitted undergarment is completed by joining the terminal end portions of the panels. The narrowed edges of the spaced panels then delineate spaced leg openings therebetween.
