Absorbent article of pants-like shape, such as incontinence pants, comprising an elastic waist portion, an absorbent element (5), and a liquid-impermeable outer layer (3) which is intended to enclose the absorbent element on at least that side thereof which faces away from the wearer during use of the article. Said elastic waist portion is made from an elastic first piece (1) which is essentially rectangular and is intended to form the rear portion (8) and side portions (9, 10) of the pants-like article. A second piece (2) forms the front portion (11) and crotch portion (12) of the pants-like article. Said second piece (2) is elongate, and the width thereof is, at least in the crotch portion (12), smaller than the length of the first piece (1). The absorbent element (5) is in its entirety arranged on the second piece (2). The liquid-impermeable outer layer (3) is breathable, at least over a portion of this which covers the absorbent element (5).

A variety of body supports are disclosed for supporting a body portion, for example for supporting a chest in a donned configuration. In some examples, the body support includes a first support panel having one or more first tongues projecting outwardly therefrom, a second support panel having one or more second tongues projecting outwardly therefrom, a connecting section, joining the first support panel to said second support panel in longitudinal spaced relationship along an imaginary longitudinal mid-line of the body support, the first tongue and the second tongue being on opposite transverse sides of a mid-line of the body support, a first fastener and s second fastener. The body support further having a doffed configuration wherein the first support panel and the second support panel are non-contiguous with respect to one another.

The invention relates to a postnatal brassiere (1) for supporting the breasts of a mother after giving birth, comprising two breast-surrounding front parts (31, 32) for receiving a respective breast of the mother, a body piece (4) which is rigidly connected to the front parts (31, 32) and which can be arranged transversely around the upper body of the mother at the height of or below the breasts, and two supports (21, 22), each of which is rigidly connected to one of the front parts (31, 32) at one longitudinal end and to the body piece (4) at the other longitudinal end. The front parts (31, 32) are designed in a virtually triangular manner such that in a mounted position of the postnatal brassiere (1), each front part (31, 32) can be arranged such that the front part extends transversely from the support (21, 22), to which the part is connected, over the corresponding breast to below the other breast, wherein the two front parts (31, 32) at least partly cross. The front parts (31, 32), the support (21, 22), and the body piece (4) have a base material which is made of a disposable nonwoven textile material. By producing the postnatal brassiere (1) according to the invention primarily from a disposable nonwoven material, the brassiere can be provided in a relatively inexpensive manner and can be disposed of or thrown away after being used. It is not necessary to provide a plurality of postnatal brassieres with a long service life or complex washing and preparing processes. Additionally, the postnatal brassiere (1) is relatively easy to use in a substantially sterile and odor-free manner. Furthermore, such disposable nonwoven materials can be relatively absorbent and robust.

A method of manufacturing an undergarment includes moving a web of body panel material in a longitudinal machine direction and cutting the web of body panel material along the longitudinal machine direction to thereby form a rear body panel web and a front body panel web each having a maximum rise and a minimum rise respectively. The maximum rise of each of the rear and front body panel webs is greater than the minimum rise of a corresponding one of the rear and front body panel webs. The method further includes shifting at least one of the rear and front body panel webs in the longitudinal machine direction and thereby aligning the maximum rises of the rear and front body panel webs. The method further includes aligning a s crotch member with the maximum rises of the rear and front body panel webs and connecting the crotch member to the front and rear body panels. The crotch member includes at least one stretchable component including an elastic material. A disposable undergarment is also provided. |
