PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the manufacture of a pivoted tool with foldable handles improved in functional quality by simplifying a manufacturing process, and omitting a secondary assembly. SOLUTION: A pivoted tool 10 such as a pair of scissors includes a pair of opposed elongaged members 12, 14, comprising jaws at the front end portions, handles 34, 54 at the rear end portions, and midportions where the elongated members 12, 14 cross over each other. The members 12, 14 have metal plates 18, 38 provided with forward extending blades, each with one jaw, and a rearward extending tangs 26. The foldable handles and a pivot are made of moldable material molded onto the metal plates, so that the handles are molded on the metal plates, and the pivot extends through center holes 30, 50 of the metal plates. Des Weiteren ist vorgesehen, dass das Langloch (10) im Randbereich seines dem Werkzeugteil (4) benachbarten Endbereichs eine erste erweiterte Vertiefung (17) und im Randbereich seines gegenüber liegenden Endbereichs eine zweite erweiterte Vertiefung (19) aufweist, mit welchen das Kopfteil (13) des Lagerzapfens (11, 12) durch Verschieben entlang des Langloches (10) wahlweise in Eingriff bringbar ist. Die erste Vertiefung (17) weist eine geringere Tiefe auf als die zweite Vertiefung (19), so dass sich die Lagerplatte (9) und die Führungsplatte (8) berühren, sofern das Kopfteil (13) mit der ersten Vertiefung (17) in Eingriff steht. Steht das Kopfteil (13) mit der zweiten Vertiefung (19) in Eingriff so weisen die Lagerplatte (9) und die Führungsplatte (8) eine Abstand voneinander auf.
