A nutcracker having an adjustable jaw to receive nuts of different sizes with the second jaw being cam operated to move towards the first jaw to crack a nut positioned between the jaws. As the jaws are swung through an operating arc the cam operated jaw is first resiliently held against the nut by a spring pressed cam plate and then on contacting the post is forced toward the adjustable jaw to crack a nut therebetween. A plunger is mounted for transverse movement in the space between the jaws to dislodge a cracked nut which sticks in the jaws.

A cashew nut decorticating machine comprises a rotatable turret having three nut holding devices equiangularly spaced about the axis of rotation, means for rotating the turret in stepwise manner so that, after each step of rotation, each nut-holding device is opposite one of three stations, means at the first station for supplying a single nut to the nut-holding device opposite it, means at the second station for cutting right round and through the shell of the nut held in the nut-holding device opposite it, and means at the third station for removing the grooved nut from the nut-holding device opposite it, separating the two cut halves of the shell and ejecting the kernel.

The present invention provides an apparatus for peeling seeds, capable of performing a peeling work regardless of diameter of a seed to be peeled, having a simple and compact structure, and significantly lowering manufacturing costs. The apparatus of the present invention comprises a main body and a seed peeling unit (30). The main body has a seed supply hopper (21) provided at an upper portion. The seed peeling unit (30) is installed in the main body. When seeds are supplied through the seed supply hopper (21), the seeds are dropped in a seed peeling net (31). A seed peeling brush (32) is rotated by a rotary shaft (36), to thereby separate the seeds into seed grains and seed peels, pulverize the seed peels, and discharge the pulverized seed peels together with water through a net of the seed peeling net (31). In the apparatus for peeling seeds in which various seeds are separated into grains and peels, the seed peeling unit (30) is configured such that the top side of the rotary shaft (36) is extended into an outlet (22) of the seed supply hopper (21), and a plurality of rotary poles (110) are installed radially based on the rotary shaft (36) along the upper circumference of the rotary shaft (36), so that the seed peels are separated from the seed grains by a rotary force of the rotary poles (110). |
