Wave-generating apparatus (1) that is installed in an aquatic environment (3) and which comprises, as its main elements, at least one elongated profile (5) that moves tangentially in relation in relation to a uniformly-deep floor (4) by the action of a drive mechanism (6). As a result, a wave (2) forms on the profile (5) and moves along with the profile (2). The profile (5) is disposed to form an angle (8) other than 90° with the direction of displacement (7), the purpose being to generate a wave (2) with an escape area and which can therefore be surfed. Some parameters of the apparatus (1) may be adjusted for the purpose of changing the degree of difficulty of the wave (2) that is generated.

A balance device includes an elongated board of generally rectangular shape. The board is a molded construction of glass fibers and plastic. An elongated, longitudinally and downwardly extending track molded integrally with the central part of the bottom of the board fits in an annular groove around a roller on which the board is supported to pivot about a horizontal axis. A removable stop on the board permits the device to be adjusted to restrict the relative movement between the board and a roller to facilitate learning how to balance the board on the roller. In an alternate embodiment, the board includes a timing mechanism and display mounted on the board for tracking and displaying the elapsed time the user remains balanced on the board.
8 Windsurfing palm harness US10077235 2002-02-15 US20030154538A1 2003-08-21 Mark J. Murphy
A harness for use in windsurfing which includes an adjustable wrist strap for securing the harness to the wrist of the wearer, a grip support which includes a rigid support structure which is curved for comfort and for securing the grip of a generally round or oval boom, and the grip support further including an adjustable finger securer. The rigid support structure is further curved for providing easy release of the boom, when necessary, by the lifting of the fingers being secured by the finger securer. The adjustable finger securer allows the wearer to extend the fingers being secured for resting the wearer's hands while still being in control of the boom. The harness transfers some or all of the force required to keep the boom engaged to the wears wrist, thereby enabling the wearer to participate in the sport for a longer period of time.
9 Sailing simulator US508801 1974-09-24 US3940862A 1976-03-02 Kaoru Nishimura
A sailing simulator comprising: a hull provided with a boom and a rudder; first supporting means for supporting the hull through the intermediary of springs for heeling motion; second supporting means for supporting the first supporting means for rotation about a vertical axis; and drive means for causing the first and second supporting means to effect heeling motion and rotation, respectively; and means operable in response to the handling of the boom and/or the rudder to control the drive means. An elastic means is interposed between the first supporting means and the drive means therefor so that the hull can be moved about the heeling axis by positional change of the weight of the trainee on the hull. Means is also provided for application of a reactive force to the boom as the boom and/or the rudder are handled.
