A bowling release positioner that includes a hand unit and an arm unit that are joined by a connecting member. Adjusting mechanisms are provided so that the two units can be angularly positioned in two separate planes in respect to each other. The wrist unit further includes a pair of hinged jaw members that encompass a substantial part of the bowler's arm and a band for closing the jaw members about the arm with sufficient force to prevent the bowling release positioner from becoming misaligned during use. |

A bowler's aid comprising a plastic, relatively stiff shell forming a segment of a cylinder mounted on the inside of the user's arm adjacent his elbow. The shell has a sufficient stiffness to lock the bowler's elbow in a straight position during the back swing and delivery until he releases the bowling ball. The shell permits him to bend his elbow, prior to beginning his back swing, by applying a pressure with his other hand on the shell's midsection toward his elbow. |

A wrist brace for use by bowlers to prevent movement of the hand relative to the wrist and forearm includes an elongated channel like member formed from low temperature thermoformed plastic and having a hand portion with a palm piece and back hand piece joined by a side piece disposed along the side of the hand opposite the thumb. A wrist portion connects the hand portion to a lower forearm portion and includes a hole disposed opposite the channel opening and surrounding the protrusion of the wrist bone to provide comfort for the wearer of the wrist brace. A plurality of straps span the opening of the channel and secure the wrist brace to the wearer's hand. |

A wrist and ring finger support for bowlers comprising a flexible glove element in combination with a rigid support piece, the glove element having straps for attachment to a bowler's hand and wrist and pocket for receiving a straight flat portion of the support piece in a position to support the wrist, the support piece having an extension at its distal end angled and shaped to provide effective support to the ring finger, as far as, and beyond the first joint. Each element is suitably padded, for the user's comfort. |

A strap, preferably elastic, extends between the middle of a bowler's back and the upper portion of the bowler's free arm. It inhibits rearward movement of the bowling shoulder and/or rotational movement of the shoulders that could result in a follow-through angle of less than ninety degrees. The strap, which preferably is at least partially elastic, can extend between a body belt that encircles the bowler's torso at the waist and an arm belt that encircles the free arm in the biceps region. |

An athletic hand movement restricting device intended for attachment to the forearm and wrist of a bowler. The intent of the device is to restrict the said bowler's hand from rotating inwardly over on top of the bowling ball into an undesireable release position, and when the said device is secured into position on the said bowler's forearm and wrist, the said device restricts the said bowler's hand from rotating inwardly past a pre-selected position, but will allow a full unrestricted rotation of the said bowler's hand in an outwardly direction. The amount of restriction can be increased by the said bowler, previous to the said bowler's turn to play, through the use of a movable adjustment means. The said bowler's wrist is free to flex in all four planes while the said device is in position and while the said device is in use. The said device comprises two adjustable means; a wrist means and a forearm means, which secure a hinged plate assembly to the said bowler's forearm and wrist in a manner that will allow the said bowler's hand to rotate outwardly to an open position, but the said device will restrict the said bowler's hand from rotating inwardly into an incorrect closed position before the release of the said bowling ball. |

A bowling practice device (1) is described comprising a a pair of inner rail members (2,3) and a pair of outer side wall safety members (7,8). The rail members (2,3) and the side wall members (7,8) are all interchangeable with each other. A plurality of cross members (12,13,14) are provided for supporting the rail members (2,3) and side wall members (7,8) in a relatively rigid spaced relationship. In use, a rolling bowling ball is received by the forward edge (4) of the rail members (2,3) and is caused to travel along a curved surface (6) extending rearwardly and upwardly from the forward surface (4) until the ball stops. When the ball stops, it is caused to return to the bowler. The side wall members (7,8) deflect a rolling ball rolled thereagainst toward the rail members. |

This invention pertains to a finger support to be worn upon the little finger of a bowler and useful for causing a slight displacement of the ball from the finger and that portion of the palm adjacent thereto, thereby effecting an urging of the ball and its accompanying weight towards the center of the palm and also towards the index finger of the bowler's hand in order to allow for his greater control over the ball delivery during participation in the sport of bowling. The support includes a base member that extends longitudinally of the little finger, having a band surrounding the little finger at this location, while the lower portion of the base member is widened to furnish that amount of ball elevation from the hand at this position to attain the foregoing attributes from the invention. |

A bowling aid device and method are operative to circumferentially compress the knuckle portion of a bowler's digit and reduce the same prior to insertion of the digit into the corresponding digit hole of a bowling ball. The device comprises a flexible and inextensible strip-like or ring-like compression member adapted to be applied completed around the knuckle and adjustable locking means operative to tighten the compression member in wrap-around compressive engagement with the knuckle for a preselected period of time. The resultant circumferential reduction of the knuckle provides optimum sliding engagement of the reduced digit within the corresponding digit hole in the bowling ball and improved bowling performance. |

Disclosed is an apparatus providing a single central bowling pin (of standard size and weight) suspended from its upper end adjacent an alley area. Three simulated bowling pins (of standard size) are suspended on each side of the central pin, the axes of the pins being aligned in a single vertical plane transverse to the direction of travel of the bowling ball. The ball used is a conventional bowling ball and above the aligned pins is a triangular, multiple lamp arrangement, the lamps being energized to indicate splits, strikes etc. in response to actuation of properly placed probes by the ball as it moves through the line of pins. Return of the ball automatically resets the switches controlling lamp energization to ready the apparatus for the next ball rolled.
