PURPOSE:To improve the abrasion resistance of felt while maintaining the external appearance of the felt covering the core of a tennis ball, and suppressing the fuzz during the play. CONSTITUTION:As the constituent fiber of the felt covering a core, polyterephtharate fiber, which is the fiber consisting of polymer wherein 90% or more of all repeating units of a molecular chain are polyethylene terephtharate units and is equipped with the following properties at the same time, is used. (A): dry thermal shrinkage factor/intrinsic viscosity of polymer; S150 deg.C/IV=5.0%-7.5%. (B): birefringence; nD=170X10<-3>-185X10<-3>. (C): crystal orientation factor; fc=0.935-0.950. (D): noncrystal molecular orientation parameter; F-0.75-0.90. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cloth having improved touch, durability and control effect and suitable for the covers of tennis balls, etc., by disposing a felt-made outer surface comprising interlaced fibers and imparting three-dimensional patterns on the outer surface.
SOLUTION: This cloth is used for the covers of tennis balls, and has a felt-made outer surface comprising interlaced fibers. Three-dimensional patterns such as a pattern continuously comprising depressed regions and non-depressed regions are imparted to the outer surface. The cloth comprises a woven fabric comprising interlaced warps and wefts. The three-dimensional pattern is preferably formed by changing the interlacing frequency of the warps with the wefts.

PURPOSE: To improve elasticity and flexibility of a tennis ball, and, simultaneously, reduce a fall out of pile fiber from the ball and obtain a long life of the ball by applying a circular-knitted high pile fabric, being provided a needle punching treatment and a milling treatment, as a facing.
CONSTITUTION: A facing 4 is laminated and fixed via an adhesive layer 2 onto the surface of a spherical rubber core 2 with a hollow part 1. The facing 4 is made of a material that a circular-knitted high pile fabric exposed as pile fiber from one surface of the base texture. Slivers are laid by brushing the piled ground fabric formed from wool and nylon mix-spinned yarn. Under such a condition, the ground fabric is needle-punched from the pile side surface to bury one pile 5 at least at two points in the base texture 6 and protruded outside to be anchored at points 5b and 5d. After that, the high pile fabric is treated by wool type milling and stuffing to obtain a felt fabric to be the surface. A tennis ball is produced by using this circular-knitted pile fabric felt.

The invention is directed toward a soccer ball and a method of making a soccer ball. The method comprises the steps of forming a pair of molded semi-hemispheric core halves from an elastomer material, connecting the edges of the core halves together, permanently affixing the edges of the core halves together to form one sphere, applying adhesive to the surface of the sphere, cutting a surface material to a desired shape, applying adhesive to the back side of the surface material, applying the back of the surface material to the surface of the sphere, and allowing the adhesive to cure until the surface material is permanently affixed to the sphere. The synthetic material is cut into a predetermined shape to match the shape of a predetermined template prior to affixing the surface material to the core. |

The amusement ball for a user having an inner surface membrane filled with air, a thin puncturable unit covering the inner surface membrane and an outer membrane unit covering the thin puncturable unit. The thin puncturable unit includes one or more first chambers and a thin puncturable membrane attached to the one or more first chambers. The outer membrane unit includes one or more second chambers and a non-permeable outer membrane attached to the one or more second chambers. A user applies a pressure on a specific location of the inner surface membrane through the outer membrane unit resulting in the bursting of the thin puncturable membrane and release of the liquid from one or more first chambers to one or more second chambers. The liquid then appears on the inner surface of outer permeable membrane. |
