A football-like game ball which is manually thrown through the air. The ball has a generally truncated ellipsoid outer contour with a Venturi-like nozzle passage extending coincident with a major axis of the ball. A plurality of weighted elements are located within or adjacent to an outer wall of the ball to provide rotational stability when the ball is thrown through the air and spun about the major axis. | ||||||

The present invention relates to sports balls. A sports ball comprises a surface layer (45) comprising a plurality of panels (46). The sports ball further comprises a lattice structure (100; 20; 300; 40; 50; 60; 70; 1100) extending below the surface layer (45), wherein the lattice structure (100; 200; 300; 40; 50, 60; 70; 1100) comprises a plurality of lattice cells comprising radially extending elements (130; 230; 330; 630; 730; 1130). The lattice cells which are adjacent to the surface layer (45) have at least one dimension which is smaller than an average diameter of the panels (46). |

The invention relates to the field of functionalisation of deformable balls, such as, for example, tennis balls. The device (10) comprises a deformable shell (12) defining an inner space (14); a resilient band (18, 30, 32) suspended in the inner space (14) and including two ends secured to the deformable shell (12), said band (18, 30, 32) including a piezoelectric material (30, 32), such as to produce an electric voltage when the shell (12) is deformed, and two electrodes for collecting the voltage; and an electronic circuit (34) for treating the voltage, arranged on the resilient band (18, 30, 32) and connected to the electrodes of the resilient band (18, 30, 32). |
