26 Swim fin with shark-like movement US14580346 2014-12-23 US09199126B1 2015-12-01 Herbert Martin
Embodiments of the present invention include a swim fin, including a swivel motion thruster, a tailfin coupled with the swivel motion thruster, a spine rod hingeably coupled via a first hinged coupling with the swivel motion thruster at a first end of the spine rod, a first foot pocket coupled with the swivel motion thruster on one side of the first hinged coupling and a second foot pocket coupled with the swivel motion thruster on an opposite side of the first hinged coupling such that movement of the first foot pocket toward the tailfin results in an arcuate motion of the tailfin about the first hinged coupling away from the first foot pocket, and a belt coupled with a second end of the spine rod opposite the first end, wherein the belt is configured to frictionally fit to a human body.
27 Swim fin assembly US10098893 2002-03-15 US06561862B1 2003-05-13 George B. Moore
A swim fin assembly of a generally T-shaped configuration including a flexible fin and an elongated foot support bar traversing and being operatively connected to the fin in a rigid securement. The fin is progressively more flexible from its forward end to its rearward end and from its upper and lower edges toward its center. A pair of foot receiving members are pivotally mounted on the foot support bar proximate its extended ends such that upon securing one's feet in the foot receiving members the fin is substantially perpendicular with respect to the wearer's feet such that upon exerting a stepping-type motion employing alternating thrusts in a prone position in a body of water, the resulting reciprocal pivotal movement of the foot support bar about its midpoint causes the vertically oriented fin to move from side-to-side and propel the wearer through the water.
28 Whaletail swimming device US09774338 2001-01-31 US06375530B1 2002-04-23 Milan Dennis Earl
A flexible elongate support (1) communicating a singular pliable tailfin (2) at an end is made to flap by upward and downward force from a swimmer's legs and midsection, thereby propelling the swimmer and device in a forward direction. The swimmer inserts legs into rearward lever element (3) and forward cradle (6) which adjustably communicate with elongate support (1) at locations substantially aligning with the feet and thigh areas of a swimmer longitudinally juxtaposed to the device and provide pivot locations about which the swimmer's legs use leverage to forcibly cause tailfin (2) to displace sequentially upward and downward. Flexible elongate support 1 provides a recoil restoring force when distorted from equilibrium during a stroke, which increases efficiency and assists the swimmer in causing tailfin (2) to flap in a manner similar to the action of aquatic creatures such as dolphins and whales.
29 Double-acting single-web swimming apparatus US839501 1977-10-05 US4193371A 1980-03-18 Raymond G. Baulard-Caugan
A swimmer's propulsion apparatus of the type comprising an anti-drift member and a propelling fish-tail member connected to the anti-drift member so as to perform a swinging motion with respect to said anti-drift member, wherein the improvement consists in that the propelling member is arranged to substantially freely pivot within a predetermined neutral sector about a pivot bar oscillated by the swimmer and that the rear portion of the propelling member beyond said pivot bar has a surface greater than its front portion.

Disclosed is a swimming assistance device. The swimming assistance device comprises a body (10), a division surface (15), and a first insertion hole (16) and a second insertion hole (17). The body includes an upper surface (11) and a lower surface (12) formed as planes, and arc surfaces (13, 14) formed at both sides of the upper and lower surfaces. The division surface is provided at the center inside the body and connects the upper surface and the lower surface. The first and second insertion holes penetrate an inner portion of the body and are positioned at both sides of the division surface. Both feet of a user are inserted into the first and second insertion holes. The swimming assistance device further comprises assistance buoyancy elements (20) extended from the arc surfaces provided at both sides of the body. Each assistance buoyancy element is provided with a grabbing groove part at which a user grabs using fingers. According to the present invention, since the body is penetrated by the first and second insertion holes, into which both feet of the user is inserted, the user swims by repetitive waist movement in left and right directions while both feet of the user are inserted into the body. Therefore, patients with lumbar disc diseases can make bodybuilding exercises and correct distorted pelvis. Further, the user can float on water by the buoyancy of the body. Further, disabled people with paraplegia can also enjoy a repetitive left and right swinging style easily and obtain exercise effects through swimming.
