41 ADJUSTABLE PACKER WHEEL SEEDING SYSTEM AND METHOD US12472763 2009-05-27 US20100300338A1 2010-12-02 Jim Henry; Nicholas George Alfred Ryder
In one embodiment, a seeding implement includes a frame configured to couple to a tool bar, a parallel linkage coupled to the frame, and a ground engaging tool extending from a shank, wherein the shank is coupled to the parallel linkage. The implement also includes a packer wheel configured to control a position of the ground engaging tool, wherein the packer wheel is positioned directly behind the ground engaging tool when the ground engaging tool is engaging a soil region. Further, the implement includes an adjustment mechanism configured to shift the packer wheel rearwardly upon the ground engaging tool encountering an obstruction and to shift the packer wheel forwardly after the obstruction has been passed by the ground engaging tool.
42 Disc frame vibration dampening system US11868718 2007-10-08 US07578356B2 2009-08-25 Michael R. Newman
A disc harrow composed of one or more disc gangs has a subframe coupled to the disc gangs to move the disc gangs in response to variations in farmland terrain to limit the impact of ground variation when encountered during the harrowing process. When the obstruction is cleared, the subframe automatically returns the disc gangs to their pre-obstruction position. In addition to reducing the potentially-damaging impact of obstructions, the subframe also maintains a more consistent reel depth during undulations or changes in the farmland terrain, such as during harrowing of slopes or unleveled fields such as valleys, near waterways, and along fence rows.
43 Breakaway for field marker on agricultural implement US09428528 1999-10-28 US06397952B1 2002-06-04 David R. Hundeby
A field marker for mounting on an agricultural implement includes an elongated arm adapted to project outwardly laterally of the implement when in its operating position and is adapted to carry a field marking device at its outer distal end for making a score mark on the ground. A mount for the arm at an inner proximal end thereof allows pivoting of the arm abut first and second transverse axes whereby to allow the arm to swing upwardly and downwardly about the first one of the axes when operating on uneven ground while also allowing the arm to swing around the second of the axes from its outwardly projecting operating position into another position. The arm includes inner and outer arm sections secured together by a folding joint to permit the inner and outer arm sections to be folded into juxtaposition with one another and brought into the transport position. An extensible actuator effects relative rotation of the inner and outer arm sections, and a mechanism interacts with the inner and outer arm sections and the actuator such that as the inner arm section is pivoted through a selected angle, the outer arm section is pivoted about the folding joint relative to the inner arm section. A breakaway link on the arm permits the arm to swing as a whole relative to the mount about the second axis away from its outwardly projecting operating position when an obstacle is encountered and a predetermined force on the arm has been exceeded. The breakaway link has a resetting device associated therewith for returning the arm to the operating position once the obstacle has been cleared.

47 Field marker US969749 1997-11-13 US6019178A 2000-02-01 John Redekop
A field marker for easily and compactly folding to and from an implement with relatively few moving components. The inventive device includes an inner arm pivotally attached to a bracket structure attachable to a side of an implement, an outer arm pivotally attached to the inner arm, a marking disc journaled to a distal end of the outer arm, a first hydraulic cylinder attached between the bracket structure and the inner arm, a second hydraulic cylinder attached between the inner arm and the outer arm, and wherein the first and second hydraulic cylinders are fluidly connected in series so as to simultaneously extend and simultaneously retract the inner and outer arms. The inner arm is preferably rotatable about a substantially horizontal plane and the outer arm is preferably rotatable about a substantially vertical plane. The first hydraulic cylinder is larger than the second hydraulic cylinder to compensate for displaced hydraulic fluid by the shaft of the first hydraulic cylinder.
48 Resettable breakaway system US969750 1997-11-13 US5957216A 1999-09-28 John Redekop
A breakaway system which is easily reset by a user and does not utilize shear pins or spring loaded tension devices. The inventive device includes a support member having a U-shaped cross-sectional area, an inner member attached to the support member, an outer member pivotally attached to the support member opposite of the inner member, a lip portion attached to the outer member which projects through an opening with the support member, and a spring leveraged arm pivotally attached to the inner member containing a roller opposite thereof which engages a swaged face of the lip portion. The lip portion preferably has a ramped face opposite of the swaged face which allows the lip portion to be reset behind the roller of the arm without requiring the replacement of any components.
49 Mower with dynamic load-lightening US5845 1993-01-19 US5353579A 1994-10-11 Michel Wolff
A mower having a cutting mechanism which during work extends crosswise to the direction of work includes a retaining element. The retaining element prevents a pivoting of a support beam and the cutting mechanism around an axis directed upward and is installed so that during work, it has sharp inclination upward and forward.
50 No-till field implement US377043 1989-07-10 US4930431A 1990-06-05 Malcolm H. Alexander
An implement for agricultural field work is primarily useful for preparing a field for no-till planting and comprises a wheel carried frame for carrying a massive fertilizer hopper which has apertures in its bottom portion through which fertilizer flows at a metered rate into feed tubes which carry the fertilizer to furrows formed by double-disc ground openers mounted on the frame. The openers aerate the soil and chop crop residues remaining on the ground surface from the previous crop. Hoes attached to the openers draw a portion of the soil displaced from the furrows back into the furrows after the fertilizer is deposited therein.
51 Feeder rake with an overload protection device for agricultural pick-up and other balers US472175 1974-05-22 US3938652A 1976-02-17 Hans Otto Sacht; Joost Honhold; Uwe Elert
The invention relates to a feeder rake for the feeding of cut material into the baling chamber of agricultural pick-up and other balers, which is arranged to be driven by a steadily rotating crank and is guided by a swinging rod, which is connected by a link and by a guide arm with two spaced pivot bearings of the tine carrier of the feeder rake, and the guide arm has an overload protection device, upon whose actuation the feeder rake is folded back into a position in which it cannot continue feeding and, when it is freed of its load, it is erected again automatically moving out of the above-mentioned inoperative position into its operating position.
