25 System and method for skill enhancement and behavior modification EP86101999.0 1986-02-17 EP0235312A2 1987-09-09 Silverman,Gordon; Brudny,Joseph,; Silverman,Paul,; Stundel,Avrom,

Structural systems and method are employed including a multiplicity of computers to control the acquisition and enhancement of skilled performance or behavior. Pre-processing computers (8 and 24) each accept signals from any corresponding one of a variety of physiological or other signal transducers either in close proximity to the computer or transmitted to the computer via a telemetering system. The pre-processing computer calculates a number of different measures of this signal and makes the results known to one or more other computers. These other or auxiliary computers control presentation of a display of the data for a human observer, and perform additional calculations which determine if the processed data is within a predetermined range. This range may be a function of time and/or other variables. A measure of the error between the allowed range and the processed data is computed within these auxiliary computers. These results may be used to alter the display. They are also returned to the pre-processing computer where they may alter the pre-processing calculations. Alteration of the display and the pre-processing calculations are adapted to improve skilled performance and behavior without the intervention of a human operator other than the user.

40 WEARABLE SYSTEM FOR PREDICTING ABOUT-TO-EAT MOMENTS EP16816523.1 2016-12-02 EP3391256A1 2018-10-24 RAHMAN, Tauhidur; CZERWINSKI, Mary; GILAD-BACHRACH, Ran; JOHNS, Paul R.; ROSEWAY, Asta; ROWAN, Kael Robert
A system is provided that predicts eating events for a user. The system includes a set of sensors each of which is configured to continuously measure a different physiological variable associated with the user and output a time-stamped data stream that includes the current value of this variable. A set of features is periodically extracted from the data stream output from each of the sensors, where these features have been determined to be specifically indicative of an about-to-eat moment. This set of features is then input into an about-to-eat moment classifier that has been trained to predict when the user is in an about-to-eat moment based on this set of features. Whenever an output of the classifier indicates that the user is currently in an about-to-eat moment, the user is notified with a just-in-time eating intervention.
