A therapeutic glove apparatus has a first glove half formed of a flexible material and shaped to cover one side of a person's hand and has a bladder broken into cells and filled with a viscous liquid, such as a fluid clay material. A second glove half is formed of a flexible material and shaped to cover the other side of a person's hand and is movably attached to the first glove half and also has a bladder having a plurality of cells formed therein filled with a viscous material, such as a fluid clay. Attaching straps have hook and loop material thereon for attaching the first and second glove halves for removably attaching a therapeutic glove over a person's hand. The therapeutic glove allows a person to exercise the muscles of the hands, fingers, and wrists by movement against the resistance of clay while applying heat or cold to a person's hand.

The invention is a semi-resilient exercise grip that has a non-resilient particulate core surrounded by a resilient rubber covering. Within the core there is also a dry lubricant such as talc that allows the particles to move over each other without damage. The outer covering may consist of a single thick latex layer, a thin latex layer surrounded by a thick rubber layer or a number of thin latex layers. The semi-resiliency of the grip enables a user to deform the grip and thereby change its shape. The grip can be moved within the hand to allow the user to deform it repeatedly while changing the grip's shape each time.

A process for manufacturing filled resilient double bladder articles wherein a thinner walled resilient outer bladder and thicker walled resilient inner bladder are formed and a lubricating powder layer is deposited on the exterior surface of the inner bladder. The outer bladder is superposed over the inner bladder to form two plies of resilient material separated by the thin layer of lubricating powder which prevents the superposed surfaces from sticking together and allows relative sliding movement therebetween. The superposed bladders are pressed to remove any trapped air between the bladders and are then inflated to radially stretch them as a unit sufficient to cause permanent deformation thereof and thereafter allowed to deflate so that after deflation the deformed superposed bladders are of a size sufficient to contain a predetermined volume of filler material. The double bladder article is filled with a mass of tiny glass spheres having the consistency and appearance of fine powder. The filled article is then heated to radially shrink the superposed bladders tightly around the mass of filler material. The double bladder article is sealed by crimping a wire element around the superposed neck portions of the bladders to form an air tight seal. The sealed article is then cleaned and dried to remove any of the powder-like filler material from its exterior surfaces.

A resilient wrist support and therapeutic hand exerciser device for supporting the wrist of a person performing repetitive tasks with their wrist, hand and fingers, such as using a computer mouse and typing on a keyboard, and for exercising the muscles of the wrist, hand, fingers and forearm of the user. A mass of tiny glass spheres having the consistency and appearance of a fine powder is enclosed in a resilient inner bladder surrounded by a resilient outer bladder and a thin layer of powder is disposed between the exterior surface of the inner bladder and interior surface of the outer bladder to prevent theme from sticking together, reduce friction therebetween, and allow relative sliding movement between the surfaces. The tiny spheres provide low resistance to relative particle movement by rolling on each other upon an increase or decrease in pressure applied to the device. When placed on a flat surface beneath the wrist of a user, the device deforms slightly and conforms to the underside of the user's wrist to form a comfortable cradle-like support as the downward pressure of the wrist increases or decreases. As the wrist is moved relative to the flat surface, the device smoothly rolls between the wrist and the flat surface to provide a smooth massaging effect on the wrist while maintaining wrist support. The resilient device can be squeezed in the palm of the hand to exercise the muscles of the hand, fingers, wrist, and forearm.

An exercise putty kit for providing manipulative physical therapy of increasing difficulty comprises a container (12) of a large mass (14) of borosiloxane putty and a package (16) of borosiloxane or siloxane putty. At least one small mass (18-32) is provided to the patient along with the large mass (14), the small mass and large mass being manipulated by the patient until a uniform color and stiffness are achieved in the combined mass (38). Preferably, a plurality of small masses (18-32) having a variety of colors are available for successive manipulation with the combined mass (38). The kit provides a means by which the difficulty of manipulative physical therapy may be monitored and increased. As more small masses (18-32) are added to the combined mass (38), the stiffness increases, requiring more manipulation to fully blend the masses.

This invention is a novel exercise device, for use in either aerobic, anaerobic (i.e. muscle strengthening), proprioception activities, or aquatic exercises, which is capable of exercising opposing muscle groups in sequence using one apparatus. The device comprises a tensioning device which is used to resist elongation, thereby exercising one set of muscles, and a compressible device which is used to resist compression, thereby exercising the opposing set of muscles. Additionally, this device is constructed with an optional set of supplemental safety loops or handles which can be used in operation which will minimize the potential of the apparatus to slip off a users' limb when in the elongated position, thereby recoiling with potential injury to the participant.
