PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless access network allowing highly scalable system construction in a W-CDMA mobile communication system.
SOLUTION: An RNC 4 of a wireless access network is separated into a C-plane control unit 41 for signaling control and a U-plane control unit 42 for user data processing. User data is transferred between a mobile terminal 2 and host devices (31, 32) only via the U-plane control unit 42, and a control signal is subjected to termination processing at the U-plane control unit 42 and the C-plane control unit 41. This makes it possible to construct a highly scalable system. Furthermore, the same U-plane control unit can be continuously utilized even in a soft handover across C-plane control units, so that a conventional connecting path connecting RNCs is not required and delay caused by passing through RNCs can be eliminated.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT

Methods and apparatus configure a femto radio base station (28f). A macro receiver of the femto radio base station (28f) is used to acquire detected coverage information of a radio access network (24). The detected coverage information is used to determine an operation parameter for use by the macro transceiver (52) of the femto radio base station (28f). In one embodiment, the detected coverage information is transmitted to a control node (26) of the radio access network. The control node (26) determines the operation parameter and communicates the operation parameter to the femto radio base station (28f). The femto radio base station (28f) is accordingly configured using the operation parameter for further operation towards UES (30) accessing the femto radio base station (28f).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To register a desired mobile station to a desired HNB (Home Node B) with a simple operation by a user.SOLUTION: A CSG (Closed Subscriber Group) base station restricts an access made from an unregistered mobile station. The CSG base station permits an access from a registered mobile station which has been previously registered upon an operation made by a user and switches between a normal mode in which an access made from an unregistered mobile station is restricted and a registration mode in which an access made from an unregistered mobile station for registration is permitted (step S101). In a state switched to the registration mode, the CSG base station receives a call using a registered TEL number from the unregistered mobile station (step S107); extracts a piece of mobile station information of the calling unregistered mobile station on the basis of the call from the received registered TEL number (step S109); creates a piece of registration information by combining the extracted information with a piece of own station information (step S113); and transmits the registration information to a server unit (step S115).

172 A method and apparatus for accessing an old network through a temporary id of an evolved network JP2010521290 2008-10-28 JP5038503B2 2012-10-03 グオ、シャオロン
A method for accessing an old network through a temporary ID of an evolved network includes these steps: a User Equipment (UE) adds Mobility Management Entity (MME) information for uniquely identifying an MME accessed by the UE on an evolved network to an access message sent to an old network when the UE accesses the old network through a temporary ID of the evolved network; and the old network selects a corresponding Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) for the UE according to the access message. After the MME information for uniquely identifying an MME is added to the access message sent to the old network, the old network can determine and find the MME that is accessed by the UE in the evolved network without changing a Radio Network Controller (RNC) and an SGSN on the old network. In addition, with the method for accessing the evolved network through a temporary ID of the old network, a combined SGSN/MME can be accessed to prevent unnecessary node relocation.

A communication controller and a communication controlling method are provided, even when functionalities of the communication controller included in a communication system such as UTRAN or the like, so that the services of the functionalities are available broadly in the whole system. An RNC 102 for controlling a movable communication terminal device, in cooperation with the communication controller, receives a request for provision of a service. The RNC 102 includes: a signal transmitter/receiver 201 for discriminating the type of the requested service; an HSUPA communication request discriminating section 203; a call controller 202; a transfer destination search table 205 for storing information that associates a service that can be requested by the service request receiving means and another RNC that can provide the service; and a transfer destination searching section 204 for identifying another RNC that can provide the service, based upon the information stored in the transfer destination search table 205, if there is a request for HSUPA communication that cannot be provided by the RNC 102. The RNC 102 transfers the request for the provision of the service to another RNC identified by the signal transmitter/receiver 201.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communications system capable of maintaining a data transfer in progress even if relocating a serving RNC.SOLUTION: A wireless base station apparatus 15 is connected wirelessly with a wireless terminal 16 in a cell configured thereby, and relays a data communication by means of the wireless terminal by a bearer over the wireless. A base station controller 15 records information on association between a data-flow of the data communication with the wireless terminal 16 and the bearer over the wireless, and terminates the data communication with the wireless terminal by referring to the association information. Then, a plurality of base station controllers send the association information from a serving base station controller 12 to a drift base station controller 13 when shifting the serving base station controller 12 to the drift base station controller 13 in a state where the drift base station controller 13 has become to carry out a relay transfer of the data communication between the wireless base station apparatus to which the wireless terminal is connected and the serving base station controller 12.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for performing cell update (and cell reselection) while in a Cell_FACH state.SOLUTION: After selecting a target cell, system information is read from the target cell including high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) common system information. A radio network temporary identity (RNTI) received in a source cell is cleared and a variable HS_DSCH_RECEPTION is set to TRUE. An HS-DSCH medium access control (MAC-hs) entity is configured based on the HS-DSCH common system information. A CELL UPDATE message is sent to notify of a cell change. High speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) transmission may be received using a common H-RNTI broadcast in the system information, a reserved H-RNTI as requested in the CELL UPDATE message, or a temporary identity which is a subset of a U-RNTI. The MAC-hs entity may be reset.
